Gaiotto Automation was founded in Vaiano Cremasco (40 km east of Milan).
In these years the Company realizes the first automations of painting processes and first painting booths with water film.

1960

1960

Manufacturing of first reciprocator machines of the Italian industry and first double rail transferring units.
First Italian patents for brand new painting units and first prototype of anthropomorphic painting robot.

1970

1970

First hydraulic robots of the Italian industry with the innovative self-learning system. Gaiotto gains its role as one of the most important and innovative Companies in the market.

1980

1980

Gaiotto Automation specializes in the production and supply of complete industrial plants.

1990

In 1990, Gaiotto introduces the first model of electric anthropomorphic painting robot with direct learning. 
Between 1995 and 2000 Gaiotto devlops and releases the second generation of Gaiotto electric robot with a more complex programming.

Gaiotto Automation joins SACMI Group, world leader in the supply of advanced technology for Ceramics, Plastics, Food & Beverage, Metals, Packaging and Advanced Materials sectors, thanks to its strong positioning on global markets and its continuous search for high quality standards for its Customers.

Release of first versione of OFFLINE, the exclusive Gaiotto software for robot missions’ programming directly from the office.

Brand new focus on handling and general robotic application outside the historical painting/glazing field, with the integration of commercial robots for other industrial sectors, from automotive to food industry.

Release of the 3rd generation of Gaiotto electric robots, GA2000 and GA-OL, specifically designed for the needs of spraying industry, completely integrable with Gaiotto Automation technology and fully compatible with OFFLINE software.

New Company location in Piacenza, at the heart of Italian mechatronic district.

Introduction of new SMART OFFLINE software for a new and more advanced programming method for robot missions, now also equipped with simulation and calculation of thickness of the sprayed product on workpieces.

Gaiotto Automation begins collaboration with UNIMORE (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia) for research and development projects.

Gaiotto selected in Emilia-Romagna investment attractiveness tender

Proposed under the European Regional Development Program POR FESR 2014-2020, the tender funds strategic employment-boosting investment plans. These mainly concern industrial research and experimentation programs that target the development and dissemination of significant technological advances for production systems; such investments also seek to acquire new capacities of technological and industrial relevance to regional manufacturing chains.
Industrial robotics is increasingly important to modern manufacturing. However, its application on a wider scale poses several problems: for example, robots, once programmed, have a certain rigidity and workers now need to have a high-end skills set.

Gaiotto's ‘Development of Advanced Programming Techniques for Industrial Robots’ project seeks to address these issues. Step 1 is the development of new off-line programming software. In practice, this allows users to program robot tasks without any machine downtimes. Step 2 is the ‘virtualization’ (digital twinning) of robotic systems to allow kinematic and dynamic simulation. Lastly, Step 3 is the implementation of new algorithms that aid self-learning, allowing humans to simply and efficiently teach the robot to perform the necessary movements.

Several solutions in Gaiotto's portfolio already make full use of these principles. Such solutions form the core of the SACMI range and have multiple applications across various businesses (glazing, pressure casting, handling, etc.). This project aims to push forward the frontiers of future applications by using increasingly sophisticated hardware and software: to do so it will draw on 900,000 euros of co-funding provided under the regional tender and recruit some 25 new technicians onto the Gaiotto team.
